Join us at this unique event where you will get a very special peep behind the scenes at the renowned Wildlife Heritage Foundation, at The Big Cat Sanctuary at Headcorn, near Ashford in Kent.

The event will be hosted by Clive, and we hope to be joined by one of our newest travelling wildlife hosts, the Sanctuaries’ Chief Exec, BBC wildlife presenter Giles Clark. You may also remember two resident cubs at the sanctuary from Giles’ BBC series “Big Cats about the House” – Willow the cheetah, and Maya the black jaguar – both now no longer cubs, but still full of character and there in person for you to enjoy.

Visiting WHF is an absolutely unique experience.  They have over 56 animals at the sanctuary, being the largest collection of individual cats anywhere in the UK.  This includes 15 of the 37 different cat species; so have the highest diversity of cats in any UK collection and are second in the world only to Les Parc des Felins in France.

WHF carries the World Flag for the Amur Leopard breeding programme whose survival now depends on successful captive breeding programmes. WHF have been granted world recognition for their hugely successful programme, which will be talked about on the day.

All monies received are put back into the valuable and vital conservation work, whether it is in building new enclosures, revamping others, vets bills, transporting animals back to their countries of origin etc.   All the WHF cats have the very best of care, so you will see the endangered Amur Leopard and several other species who are now sadly on the edge of extinction, all in tip-top condition.

On the day

We’ll enjoy a fascinating and relaxed guided tour of the whole sanctuary, with plenty of photo opportunities with the cats, a glass of fizz on arrival, and a BBQ buffet lunch.

Starting at 12.30 pm, until approx. 4.30pm, our afternoon will include a talk about the achievements & aims of the Foundation and subject to his BBC filming commitments we hope you’ll meet Giles, who will talk about his work at the sanctuary and as a BBC wildlife presenter.

The price has been hugely reduced for our GENIeL and Prestige Safari Club Members from £195 to just £135 per person.

Although this social event does have a cost, please bear in mind that the Foundation is a charity, it is closed to the public and you will be well fed and watered on the day! on Sunday 15th September 2019.

We are limited on numbers, and will allocate places on a first come first served basis – so do please let us know asap if you’d like to be part of this unique visit!

We can help with comfy hotel accommodation for the previous night too – just ask us when you book.
