The salons at L’ Escargot in Soho are some of the loveliest rooms in London. This September they will be playing host to a young Kenyan Artist's first UK exhibition; an artist who has developed a unique and eye-catching style of his own.
Where it all began: Clive Thomas, the founder of GENIeL, has been leading safaris to Kenya for some 15 years, on which he has been helping two of the local primary schools in the Masai Mara. At one of them he met Eric, a boy not destined to accomplish much academically, but with an amazing natural talent for art. Sadly the school was not equipped for art classes, but with Clive’s help Eric was able to develop both his talent for true life paintings, and most importantly a style which sets his work apart.

We anticipate up to 20 pieces, all oil on canvas approx. 60/70cm x 90/100 cm
The Exhibition will mainly focus on Eric's favourite subject, lions, painted in “my fancy style” as Eric calls it. It will also feature some well known faces of people who have inspired Eric over the years.
Details of the works on show will be published in an exhibition catalog online and will be sent to all those attending also.
After the Opening Night the paintings will be on display in the restaurant at L Escargot for 14 days. All the pieces are for sale, and of course those guests attending the Opening Night will have the first opportunity to buy, should they like to do so.
